Yes. Fipronil is effective against all major tick species in India, including Rhipicephalus sanguineus (brown dog tick, the main carrier of tick fever) and Haemaphysalis species common in South India. These are the same species that the global Fipronil clinical trials were run against.
Hold the pipette upright and snap off the cap. Part your dog's coat at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Squeeze the entire contents directly onto the skin at one or two spots. Do not rub in. Keep the dog away from water for 48 hours. Wash hands after use. Repeat every 30 days.
Work quickly with a second person holding the dog if needed. Part the fur firmly, apply in one squeeze, and reward immediately. The application takes under 10 seconds. Most dogs settle into the routine after the first month. The spot-on needs no rubbing in - one squeeze and you're done.
This is normal and is actually a sign it's working. Fipronil causes hyperactivity in affected parasites before death. In the 24-48 hours after application, existing ticks and fleas may appear more active. They are dying. Do not reapply early. Within 48 hours, you should see no live parasites remaining.
Fipomed is a topical application and is not significantly absorbed systemically. It can be used alongside most other products. Do not apply two different spot-on treatments at the same time. If switching from another spot-on, wait until the previous product's cycle has ended before applying Fipomed.
By weight: 0-10 kg (0.67ml), 10-20 kg (1.34ml), 20-40 kg (2.68ml), 40-60 kg (4.02ml). Use the correct pipette for your dog's weight. When in doubt, go to the next size up.
Keep pipettes in their original sealed packaging at room temperature, away from moisture, direct sunlight, and extreme heat. Store out of reach of children and other pets. Do not use past the expiry date printed on the pack.
Fipomed has not shown interactions with common dog medications in clinical use. However, if your dog is on prescription medication or has an ongoing health condition, consult your vet before starting any new treatment including Fipomed.
