Fleas: most adult fleas are killed within 24-36 hours of application. Ear mites: significant improvement typically seen within 2-3 weeks as the mite population is systematically eliminated. Worms: expelled within days. Flea lifecycle disruption: visible reduction in home infestation after the second and third consecutive monthly application. Heartworm: prevention is continuous from the first application - there are no visible signs of it working, but any larvae deposited during the month are eliminated.
Yes. KittyMec is safe from 8 weeks of age. Apply in exactly the same way as for adult cats - part the fur at the back of the neck and apply the full 0.5ml directly to the skin. Do not use on unwell, underweight, or debilitated kittens. If your kitten is under 2.5 kg, consult your vet on appropriate dosing.
Consult your veterinarian before using on pregnant or nursing cats. Selamectin safety in pregnant cats is not established for all conditions. For nursing queens, standard guidance is to seek vet advice before starting any antiparasitic treatment.
Selamectin has a bitter taste that typically causes brief drooling or head-shaking if licked - this passes quickly and is not harmful. To avoid this: apply at the back of the neck where your cat cannot easily reach, and keep her distracted with food during and for 30 minutes after application. If excessive salivation occurs, give water and monitor. It resolves on its own.
Yes. The formula remains effective after water exposure. For best absorption, avoid bathing your cat or getting her wet for 48 hours before and after application. After that window, normal bathing and any water exposure will not reduce the protection.
Yes. Three reasons: First, fleas enter your home on your clothing, bags, and shoes - your cat does not need to go outside to get them. Second, any mosquito that enters through a window or door can deposit heartworm larvae when it bites your cat. Heartworm disease in cats has no approved treatment in India - prevention is the only option. Third, indoor cats still carry intestinal parasites from environmental sources. Monthly KittyMec addresses all three.
Store in the original packaging in a cool, dry place below 30 degrees C, away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Do not freeze. Check the expiry date on the pipette and do not use after it.
KittyMec does not treat tapeworms (Dipylidium caninum or Taenia species). If you see rice-like segments in your cat's stool or around her tail, that indicates tapeworms and a separate praziquantel treatment is needed. KittyMec also does not treat ticks as a primary indication in cats, and is for prevention only - not treatment - of established heartworm disease.
