On topical application it has a selective affinity for the sebaceous glands and skin, spreads rapidly through the pet's hair coat within 24 hours, and a part of it is absorbed into systemic circulation through the skin. That absorption is what allows it to treat both ectoparasites and endoparasites from a single application.

That said, ear infections can look similar and need different treatment, so if there is a bad smell, discharge or visible pain, have your vet look before you assume.
Store in a cool, dry and dark place at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees C, protected from direct sunlight, and out of reach of children. It is flammable, so keep it away from heat and open flame. Securely wrap the used pipette in several layers of newspaper and discard it in the trash.
